Mel has been a member of the Foothills almost from its inception. He attends all our golf trips and sometimes brings his gracious daughter, Brenda, with him. He plays with his long-time partner Earl Epps. A round with Mel is a joy. He truly loves the game and the cameraderie of a round. It is easy to see why Mel was a successful businessman in Greenville for so long. His warmth and easy wit surely brought a lot of repeat business.

John is a member that most of the other members know as he and I have a running conversation during the tournament announcements. John and Bob Cardwell have a standing bet every tournament. John and I drove down to Augusta for a Master’s practice round a few years ago and as you might expect, there was no lull in the conversation. John is a wonderful partner on the course. He really grinds and gets the most out of his game. He enjoys the group trips and always has good recommendations for trips.
